Enersion

Enersion has developed a revolutionary new green technology that uses heat instead of electricity to produce cooling thereby saving on electricity consumption by over 70% compared to the conventional cooling technology. In addition, it uses harmless plain water as a refrigerant as opposed to synthetic refrigerants (like R134a) that contribute to global warming. The work behind Enersion began In 2015 by a team of UofT (University of Toronto) and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) surface physicists and mechanical engineer who set out to replace the century-old compressor-based cooling technology with a financially viable green technology. This effort resulted in using surface physics on nanoporous materials to create thermal compression, a much needed alternative to mechanical compression that is used in conventional systems.
