CERT enables electrification and decarbonization of chemical manufacturing processes. CERT has developed a CO2 electrolyzer system that converts CO2 into carbon-based chemical feedstocks and fuels using only water and electricity. Similar to how a water electrolyzer splits water into hydrogen and oxygen, the CO2 electrolyzer splits the CO2 molecule and reforms it into useful hydrocarbons such as ethylene. CERT has created novel catalyst electrodes that enable highly active and selective conversion of CO2 into target products.
