Haze Automotive is building smart “vehicle frames” using race-car material technology (carbon fiber) infused with special sensors. Haze Automotive’s patent-pending manufacturing process requires minimal labor resources, which leads to a 90% reduction in cost. The company has also lowered the price of carbon fiber by sourcing the material from converted bitumen. This material is significantly more sustainable than traditional carbon fiber.

Moment Energy provides clean, affordable and reliable energy storage by repurposing EV batteries. It is estimated that 95% of EV batteries are not handled sustainably when retired from a vehicle and it costs thousands of dollars to recycle EV batteries. As the transition into EVs grows to 125 million by 2030, the improper disposal of the batteries is a growing issue, leaving 200-300 GWh of end-of-life EV batteries stored on shelves or in landfills.  Today, Moment Energy has deployed four paid projects across Canada, and its biggest project was a 120kWh system.
